Presenting RIS localization research at the CWI Symposium 2026
At the Centre for Wireless Innovation (CWI) Annual Symposium 2026 in the Allstate Software Studio, Computer Science Building, Queen's University Belfast, I presented my poster, “RIS-Aided mmWave Localization Under Cross-Link Interference via Beam-Domain ML Fingerprinting.” The poster examines how beam-domain signal measurements and machine learning can help locate a user in a RIS-assisted mmWave link when another link causes interference.
The poster session was an opportunity to explain the problem, the RIS-assisted system model, and the localisation approach to researchers from across wireless communications. It was also a chance to reflect on the work with my second PhD supervisor and spend time with two colleagues at the symposium.

Activity highlights
- Presented the poster “RIS-Aided mmWave Localization Under Cross-Link Interference via Beam-Domain ML Fingerprinting.”
- Explained how cross-link interference complicates RIS-aided user localisation and why beam-domain fingerprints can be useful.
- Discussed the research during the symposium's poster and networking sessions.
- Photographs capture the poster, a moment with my second PhD supervisor, and a group photo with two colleagues.
Activity experience
Presenting the poster put the technical results into a wider conversation about practical 6G systems. The questions and discussions during the session helped connect the localisation method with the other wireless research showcased at CWI.
